Will my hard drive really fail? [back]

All hard drives fail. It's not a matter of if it will fail but when. Hard drive failure is such a sure thing that manufacturers have a rating for hard drives called Mean Time Between Failure, or MTBF for short. This rating determines how many hours a hard drive may run before failing.

What operating system is required? [back]

All major operating systems are supported. Windows XP, Vista, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Mac OS X, Linux, UNIX, and Novell are all supported

What is the difference between SagoSAFE Desktop and Enterprise? [back]

Our SagoSAFE product is desgined to work on any desktop, workstation, laptop, or server. The Desktop edition can be used with any home computer, workstation, or laptop. The Enterprise edition is for servers with any server operating system.

Do I need to purchase any special hardware or equipment? [back]

Sago Networks provides the carrier-grade storage equipment. We house a large IBM SAN in our wholly-owned Atlanta, Georgia datacenter facility. In addition, we run a privately owned and operated fiber optic network from Tampa, Florida down to Miami, Florida, up to Jacksonville, Florida, and into Atlanta, Georgia. This fiber optic network, in conjunction with the IBM SAN allows us to provide the total data protection of SagoSAFE.

Are there any limits on how much I can store? [back]

SagoSAFE can easily accomodate multiple-terrabyte backups. When you click the Try it link above, you will be asked how much storage space you require. This will be your quota as to how much storage you are allowed to store. Please contact our sales team to upgrade your storage quota to a large amount.

Can I upgrade my backup storage after I have an active account? [back]

Yes, SagoSAFE grows with your needs. As storage demands grow, you may reevaluate your needs and choose to upgrade your SagoSAFE storage. To upgrade your storage quota, please contact our sales team.

Does my computer have to be connected to the Internet to perform a backup? [back]

Yes, your computer or server must be connected to the Internet. For the best results, we strongly deploying the full SagoSAFE solution which includes a private, encrypted wireless or fiber-optic connection to our SagoSAFE server. Please contact our sales team for a quote on the transport and storage.

Do I need to start the backup, or is it automated? [back]

SagoSAFE is fully automatic. The software can be configured to run on your taskbar, or as a service/daemon. It may be customized to run automatically on any schedule you choose. Alternately, a manual start of the backup may also be done on-demand.

Our SagoSAFE solution can be fully tailored to your individual needs. You may purchase transport and data storage separately or combine them together to receive the full rock-solid solution and total data protection.
